Steering Cross Assembly

A steering cross assembly is a component of a vehicle’s steering system that allows the driver to control the direction of the vehicle. It consists of two arms that intersect each other at a right angle, forming a cross shape. Each arm is connected to a steering linkage, which in turn is connected to the wheels of the vehicle.

When the driver turns the steering wheel, the steering column rotates, which causes the steering cross assembly to turn. This movement is transmitted through the steering linkages to the wheels, causing them to turn and change the direction of the vehicle. The steering cross assembly plays a critical role in ensuring that the driver can control the vehicle’s direction with precision and accuracy.

The steering cross assembly is typically located near the front of the vehicle, between the engine and the wheels. It is usually made of sturdy materials like steel or aluminum to ensure durability and resistance to wear and tear. Regular maintenance of the steering cross assembly, including lubrication and inspection for damage, is important for ensuring its proper function and extending its lifespan.
